TEAM BATTLE
A new way to play with your cards from the Pokémon Trading Card Game
With the regular rules of the Pokémon Trading Card game, players evolve up their Pokémon over the course of a game and battle their opponent with all stages of Pokémon. With Pokémon TCG Team Battles, devolved by Ninecard TCG, you’re a Pokémon Master—and your team of most trusted Pokémon is already at your fingertips.
What You’ll Need for a Team Battle
A 10-card deck featuring your favorite Pokémon
A 10-card Attachments Deck
A 20-card Main Deck
A coin or coin-flip die, and dice for damage counters
An opponent
Your 10-Card Pokémon Deck
Your 10-card Pokémon deck consists of 10 Pokémon cards featuring Pokémon that will be available for you to select at the start of a Team Battle, where you’ll form your team by picking six of them. In Team Battles, there’s no need to evolve your Pokémon, so you are free to choose your favorite Stage 1 or Stage 2 Pokémon as part of your team, without including their prior evolutions! Each Pokémon in your 10-card Pokémon deck must feature a unique species of Pokémon. If you choose to include Bellossom from XY—Ancient Origins, for example, you won’t be able to include Bellossom from Black & White—Boundaries Crossed.
A few other things to note about cards in your Pokémon deck:
Only Pokémon from Black & White base set and onward are allowed.
Pokémon with a Rule Box aren’t allowed. This means no Pokémon-EX, M Pokémon-EX, Pokémon BREAK, Pokémon-GX, Pokémon Prism Star, Pokémon V, VMAX, V-UNION VSTAR, or Radiant Pokémon.
Any Pokémon featuring the words “Prize cards” is not allowed. Unfortunately, this includes all Ultra Beasts.
The following Pokémon are banned:
